Flaming Fires

Hi Everyone,

I'm sure you all have heard about the crazy fires that are happening all over SoCal. Kevin and I are fine and don't think we are in any immediate danger. This is the first time we've been happy to be surrounded by concrete. The air is completely toxic and visibility is horrible. Our school is closed for the week and I am doing some work from home.

We have been watching the news throughout the day to stay informed and trying to diffuse our anxious boredom.

Please join me in a rain dance!

Lisa - We just got back in town from Pinnacles and Tahoe and I saw this morning about the crazy fires in San Diego. I just logged on and I'm so happy to hear that you guys are ok. My thoughts are with you both and with all of Southern California - I hope you get some rain SOON. Love you. PS. From a training standpoint... I recommend only doing indoor runs. :-)

Amy and Teresa - Thanks for your thoughts and rain prayer.

I haven't been doing any working out. My local gym is being used for evacuees and of course, running outside is not good.

Aside from that, I've been glued to the TV listening to evacuation announcements to make sure that no one I know needs a place to stay.

These fires are out of control and I am internalizing a lot of the pain and sadness that I see around me.

Each day is getting better though.
