Hey Friends,
Today is the first day of the 14-week half marathon training. I know I've been getting my body moving and into the rhythm that is running, but I haven't really buckled down and committed myself fully to it.
Today I am committing. I have printed out the training schedule and am ready. I've started my day with a protein shake and am committed to mindfully fueling my body to the best of my ability. I've stocked up on an extra pair of running shoes and insoles. I AM READY!
How are you guys doing?

Lisa - You are the Best! It sounds like you are totally on track and I can't wait to hear how this first week goes for you. Way to keep us on track.
Ok, so I just started my period and woke up feeling completely crabby and shitty. BUT... Tom convinced me to get my ass in to the gym with him and I did hardly anything of effort, but at least I went and got 20 minutes of cardio in, some back exercises and a couple of lower ab exercises in. So better than nothing. We're doing our running on tues, thurs and saturdays, so I'll start officially tomorrow with a 3 mile run.
DAY 1 CHECKIN: woke up and started the training program - 5 min. warmup walking @ 3.5mph, then 10 min @5.5 mph, then 10 min @6.0mph, then 4 min walking cooldown @3.3mph. I realized when I run my goal race pace (6.0mph/10 min. miles) I'm a beginner runner, so I went with the 20 minutes of solid running today. It was kind of tough, but it felt good to push myself.
